He took a deep breathe. Inhaled and exhaled a couple of times, each time a little bit slower, a little bit longer. He closed his eyes and repeated the breathing. He could feel his heart rate slow down. Slowly he put the mask on and then he emerged into the world he felt so at ease with. He would be one with the ocean once again, diving for minutes without any air. Usually he was down here to enjoy. To become one with this amazing world. This time was different. A lot was at stake. He had to succeed. The consequences would be too huge to handle otherwise.
Please continue….
Check out the other intros of my Blog Event ‘Finish It!’ here or head over here to read all the stories written so far.
I read this far into the intro, “He took a deep breathe. Inhaled and exhaled a couple of times, each time a little bit slower, a little bit longer.” When I concluded my story would be about a scuba diver! But then I kept reading and it’s about a scuba diver for everyone. Hmm, now what to do! LOL.
The prompts that have more content in them tend to flummox me. I get going with an idea and then, wham, it doesn’t quite fit in with the prompt. But, that’s just me. So although I have not submitted to all of the Intros I do have the prompts sitting in draft mode just in case I come up with something later š

I’ll have to read up on it. Never heard the term before. Write now I am mentally processing #21. I have the ideas, they’re just not solidifying yet.

Those are the ones that dive without any oxygen. I was actually thinking of a free diver. They dive up to 11 minutes! Have you heard of the movie “The big blue” (“Le Grand Bleu”)? It’s about free divers. One of my all time favorite movies.

Ah, with the very sexy (in the day) Jean Reno? I think I used to own that movie (back in the day) š

I think you must be referring to Jean Reno as although he was born in Morocco to Spanish parents me moved to France and has a French accent. The other main actor in the movie was Jean-Marc Barr, a German. I don’t imagine those accents are too similiar. Although with both being men being Jeans and both being actors able to change their accents, who knows, right? LOL. I have to see that movie again now that you’ve brought it back to mind š

I think although Barr was born in Germany he’s French-American? Yes, I was talking about him. Saw the movie in French back then. Need to watch it again…

Ah š I’ll have to watch it again and see who I like. I remember liking Jean when I was young, now that I am older maybe I’ll be cougar-like and go for the younger Jean-Marc LOL!

Oh, not complaining, just explaining my apparent absence after so many submissions. Also, I thought it funny that I was going exactly where you were wanting to take it.
It was like on one of the very early ones, the inspiration intro took everyone to stories of death one way or another, even though the intro did not seem to point in that direction. I find it fascinating how we the stream of conciousness links everyone in the world, invisibly.

Me too. It’s fun to see with what people come up with. Sometimes I’m really surprised…
