He had asked himself that question thousands of times over the last thirty minutes. Why? Somehow there had to be an answer for it. If only he could come up with one before he had to tell her.

He watched as she stared at him, her eyes blinking and mouth gaped. She didn’t know what to say. Just thirty minutes before, she had walked into the restaurant, clad in her finest black mini-skirt with thin straps, and her wavy chestnut hair bound behind her in a pony tail. She was meeting someone by the username of “zdonovan9889”, who she had just a glimpse of his face on his online dating profile.
