I took this picture when we first went skiing here in Australia. Up until today it amazes me when I see a gum trees in the snow. For me growing up in the Swiss Mountains The trees lose their leaves or then it is the trees with the needles. But skiing amongst snow covered gum trees was something special…
Skiing in Australia is pretty good, you know. Many Australians and non-Australians asked us how we can deal with the poor skiing down here, coming from Switzerland. And I usually tell them that it is not poor at all. The slopes are great and the way they look after them and groom them is outstanding. Cut yourself some slack, Aussies, your ski resorts are actually pretty good.

A couple of days ago I received the following invitation:
Hi SB
I’m about to invite you to join in a challenge I recently accepted. Five Photos, Five Stories. I thought this challenge could present you with the opportunity of view blogging from a different angle, to do something different, anything that suits you for that matter. It’s entirely up to you. …
Clare
The Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.
Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge.
Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command. And actually everyone can join in. So feel free to if you like the idea.
Thank you so much, Clare from My Creative Cosmos or Clare & Dean for nominating me for this amazing challenge.

I would like to invite Linda from Nutsrok to join the party. As I said, it is totally up to you to accept this challenge.
Hi SB.
I was 30 years old before I saw snow in Australia. But that’s only because I lived in Queensland where it only snows rarely, and then only at Stanthorpe and I never lived anywhere near Stanthorpe. I have been to the snow fields three times now and totally agree. Seeing life in gum trees covered with snow is an amazing sight to be hold.

So it is not just me 😉 Where do you go? We either go to Buller or Hotham. I prefer Hotham though…

We’ve been to Falls Creek and Perisher Blue twice now and I hope we can take a trip to Mt Kosciuszko again before winter is finished this year. I think Cradle Mountain may be covered in snow before we get there, so that should be great.

Cradle Mountain is definitely on my list and Mt Kosciuszko too. Been to Falls Creek but would like to ski in Thredbo and Perisher… Heard they are great resorts…

Another great image showing the real Australia. Love Thredbo and the summer walk up to Kosciusko summit. Low by European standards but it will do me any time. It’s so great that you like it here even though you must miss Switzerland.

I do miss some things but I don’t really miss Switzerland. Australia is such a diverse and beautiful country.
